Spring Tidings

How more appropriate than to start our new blog in Spring, the season of renewal.  With Spring weather, Lisa has appropriated space in the sunroom and on the porches of Hawthorne House for garden related items.  In addition to the planters, plant, and furniture, we are also featuring great Spring accessories to  use on Spring tables, brighten your day, or give as the perfect Mother's Day gift.

Cast concrete planters and accessories from Flat Earth Designs and its owner Richard Taylor.  Richard is a master at finding unique and interesting objects in shops and fairs all over the world.  He brings them back to the US and casts come of the most beautiful garden objects around.  Lisa has also selected some interesting plants to sell as well to fill all the new containers.
Boxwoods, palms, and succulents are just a few of the plants you'll find in our shop this Spring.
Faux bois table with planter cast from an antique sewing basket.
Large faux bois planter.
Twig planter.
Faux bois bench and hypertufa ball on stand.  The hypertufa will patina and gross moss the longer it is exposed to the elements.

Small fleur de lis pot with trailing Angel's tears.

Lisa has also found a fantastic line of French outdoor furniture that features paint that is a DuPont® powder, 100% polyester, anti-UV, deposited electrostatically on the furniture for optimal coverage, then baked at 193°, just like in the car industry.  This process offers great weather resistance for the metal and helps to maintain the paints color.  Fermob is available in a variety of styles and colors.
